Project Desk — Black Belt Academy
Black Belt Academy is the debut mixtape from Washington, DC artist YungBelt BDS, a 12-track project that maps the discipline and focus of martial-arts progression onto the raw street rap of the District. The metaphor runs deep: white belt to black belt, fundamentals to mastery, street survival to artistic command.
The project reframes the mixtape format as a training arc. Each track earns the next belt — Discipline, Focus, Loyalty, Execution, Belt Way — before the Internet Politics lead single and the Final Sparring closer land their punches. YungBelt BDS produces, performs, and sequence-architects the entire run.
Categorized as DC Street Rap and Trap, the project follows the lead single Internet Politics (directed by @Directormxx) and arrives July 1, 2026 via the DMV Signal theater.

Building the Academy
the discipline arc behind the 12-track runThe Belt as Metaphor
A black belt is not given. It is earned through repetition, failure, and the willingness to show up to the mat when nothing in you wants to. YungBelt BDS borrows the martial-arts ranking system to describe what it takes to move from the white-belt basics of street survival to the black-belt command of an artist who has paid every lesson in full. The mixtape is the dojo.
From Internet Politics to Final Sparring
The tracklist is sequenced as a training arc. Discipline opens the run, Focus narrows the lens, and the lead single Internet Politics lands at track 8 — the moment the student has earned the right to broadcast. The closer Final Sparring (track 12) is the test: a test of self, a test of the streets, a test of whether the artist has truly earned the black belt he is claiming.

Internet Politics — The Opening Salvo
Internet Politics is the project's first move — a sharp critique of digital street personas that doubles as a declaration of intent. The track opens with "I am not spiraling, I am rebranding" and ends every fake-lifestyle pitch it meets along the way.
